On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, the ladies of WSBC and their guests gathered for their annual Christmas fellowship dinner.

This year's theme was "Grace, Glory, and Desire:  an evening reflecting on the incarnation of our Lord and the glory and affection that He deserves.”

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” ~John 1:14

Over the weekend, many people had volunteered time to transform the basement fellowship hall into a sparkling winter wonderland.

Deer were part of the decoration, pointing to the psalmist’s verse:
“As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.” ~Psalm 42:1

After a half hour of settling in and enjoying various appetizers that Maurina had prepared, Karla opened the meeting with a welcome to the guests.
Barbara read “What We Celebrate at Christmas” from R.C. Sproul, Dec. 21, 2016, Ligonier Resources.
Then, Julie led the group in singing the carol, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear.
Bonnie presented an opportunity to support the Voice of the Martyrs Christmas care packs for children project, then she led the group in a prayer of thanksgiving for the fellowship dinner.
After a break for a buffet-style dinner, the ladies turned their attention back to the podium.
Julie led the group in singing another carol, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”.
Amy read a Psalm 29:2 devotional from “Ascribe the LORD the Glory Due His Name”, August 16 C.H. Spurgeon: Morning by Morning. The ladies responded by singing, “Christians, Awake, Salute the Happy Morn”.
Gayle presented the group with “Never Be Thirsty” from John 4:14 Devotional October 6 reading, also from Spurgeon.

The group was then treated to a duet, A Celtic Noel “The First Noel” (arr. By Patrick Tierney), sung by Seth and Moriah.

Desserts sweetened the evening.
